Semi-Annual Scholarship
The Lou Frey Institute

The semi-annual scholarship is just one way the Institute is reaching out to the Central Florida community and encouraging high school and college students to participate in politics. Eight high school student winners and two college winners will receive scholarships of $1,000.

The Institute hosts two national symposia, annually. Scholarships are awarded in conjunction with each symposium.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Students must either be:

• a full-time, undergraduate student at UCF, VCC, SCC or Rollins who has at least one more full calendar year of academic work to complete before graduation; OR,
• an enrolled student at a Central Florida high school (public or private) who is a senior.

   AND

Students must attend (or will attend) a college or University in the Orlando metro area (i.e., UCF, VCC, SCC or Rollins). Students seeking to attend college out-of-state or out-of-area colleges are not eligible for the scholarship.

   AND

Scholarship winners MUST attend the evening keynote presentation at the Institute's Spring 2006 Symposium (beginning at 6:00 pm on Monday, March 27, 2006) and make a brief statement about the scholarship and how it will be beneficially used. Students who fail to appear at the evening program will have their scholarship revoked.

AWARDS:
Ten scholarships (8 high school student winners and 2 college winners) in the amount of $1,000 each will be awarded at the Frey Institute's Spring 2006 Symposium to be held on Monday, March 27, 2006 in the UCF Student Union, beginning at 9:30 am. All materials become the property of the LFI and will not be returned.
